I got a Thermal Camera..

I finally got my THERMAL CAMERA in the mail!

This camera doesn’t photograph light, like an ordinary camera. It captures heat, and turns differences in temperature into an image. I find this fascinating because it reveals a reality that we cannot see with the naked eye. People, animals, cars, buildings, nature, and objects we have touched take on completely different forms through thermal imaging. You can even photograph the traces people leave behind - like the warmth remaining on a chair after someone has left. A hand leaving trace on a wall. I’m fascinated by the artistic possibilities of this - using technology to photograph presence, absence, memory and invisible traces. Not just photographing what something looks like, but what it feels like in another dimension of reality.. It opens up another kind of photography: photographing the invisible, traces, warmth, and presence itself..
